Janet Baker is divine. This CD collection has many of her recordings from the vinyl records I had amassed over the years, so it is fantastic to have them on CD. It also has many recordings I don't remember being available on vinyl. Janet Baker's artistry is breathtaking, and it's wonderful to have so many riches available in this one collection.

Jun 29,  · The modern Monteverdi renaissance began with Leppard's introduction of The Coronation of Poppea at the Glyndebourne Festival, and this recording of the opera, in the English translation of Geoffrey Dunn, comes from a live performance at the London Coliseum, featuring the Sadler's Wells Opera Chorus and Orchestra, with Janet Baker in Missing: Absence.
