The vinyl format can generate other issues: crackles and pops, records that skip and the whine of a needle against the LP, all problems that the CD advertised itself on solving decades ago.

First of all, my hat's off to Amazon for their speedy delivery and decent job of packing uh, for the most part. I ordered the LP as well as the 2-CD set and they were sent together, which is a plus. The one minus was the LP, although placed on top of sturdy packing material, was on /5(2).

In most cases, a high resolution source is eq’d / mastered specifically for vinyl. This new file is called the vinyl premaster. Gotta Groove strongly urges all customers to have a vinyl premaster made by a reputable professional who regularly works with the vinyl format before submitting audio to be cut.

Feb 23,  · What I want to know is how to tell if the vinyl is primo. But, a notch isn't going tell you if it's a promo. A white label, a stamp on the label or the cover that has a stamp or sticker that reads "promo" or "promotional" are the typical, latter vinyl era indicators.

Stay away from Creative Sounds. I worked for them in the late 80's and early 90's and "Remastered" several albums for them including the Black Sabbath and Deep Purple albums. These albums were all transferred from vinyl LP to 1/4" tape at 30 ips. I then manually edited out most of the clicks and pops using a razor blade. These are horrible rip.
