Oct 05,  · Hoping to find the Stan Webb/Chicken Shack experts on the site. In they released a great version of "I'd Rather Go Blind" w/ Christine Perfect (McVie) singing lead. That's on the site. But after she left they still continued to perform it with Stan Webb on vocals - and IMO he's done some of the definitive versions of "I'd Rather Go Blind".

This CD may be expensive but there will be no disappointments. It would enhance any Blues collection. They were basically developed by Peter Green and John Mayall/5(8).

Going Up, Going Down is a double-disc set on the Castle label focusing on Chicken Shack singer and guitarist Stan Webb. The first disc captures the early days of his British electric blues band when the lineup included future Fleetwood Mac keyboardist Christine Perfect (pre- McVie).

Cheers for this album to be finally out on CD. I've always wondered if George Thorogood was inspired to put power sax into his music mix after hearing this one by Stan Webb. Granted his vocals are a bit rough and take a little getting used to (thus only 4 stars) but man the boogie guitars and slide are GREAT/5(6).
